A quick and easy party recipe that transforms childhood nostalgia into a sophisticated adult treat. These jello shots combine orange gelatin, pumpkin puree, and vodka for a creamy, boozy fall flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box (3 oz) orange Jell-O gelatin powder
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree (100% pure, not pie filling)
  • 1 cup vodka (plain, unflavored)
  • 1–2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 tablespoon heavy cream (optional, for cheesecake style)

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 cup of water until steaming hot (about 2-3 minutes in microwave).
  2. Pour hot water into a medium mixing bowl. Add the Jell-O powder and pumpkin pie spice. Whisk vigorously for 1-2 minutes until completely dissolved and no clumps remain.
  3. Stir in the pumpkin puree until fully incorporated and the mixture resembles a thick orange soup.
  4. Let the mixture cool for 5-10 minutes until warm to the touch but not hot.
  5. Stir in the vodka gently to combine. Do not add while boiling to preserve alcohol potency.
  6. Pour the mixture into small plastic jello shot cups using a funnel, filling them about 3/4 full.
  7. Cover with lids and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.
  8. Serve cold, optionally garnished with extra pumpkin pie spice.

Notes

Ensure the mixture is warm but not hot before adding vodka to prevent evaporation. Do not use pumpkin pie filling as the added sugars/thickeners can prevent setting. For a non-alcoholic version, replace vodka with additional hot water or apple cider. These can be stored in the fridge for up to one week.
