A quick, no-bake dessert dip made with cream cheese, butter, and yellow cake mix. It offers the nostalgic taste of birthday cake batter with a creamy, tangy texture, ready in under 10 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz full-fat cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup dry yellow cake mix
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 small box (approx. 3.4 oz) dry vanilla pudding mix
  • 1/4 cup funfetti sprinkles
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream (optional, for consistency)

Instructions

  1. Soften the cream cheese at room temperature for at least 30 minutes.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and butter together with an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth and creamy (2-3 minutes). Scrape down the sides.
  3. Add the vanilla extract and mix for 30 seconds.
  4. Add the dry yellow cake mix and dry vanilla pudding mix. Mix on low speed initially to avoid dust, then increase to medium and beat for 2-3 minutes until thick and creamy.
  5. Gently fold in the funfetti sprinkles using a spatula.
  6. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the dip to set and flavors to meld.
  7. Transfer to a serving bowl, top with extra sprinkles if desired, and serve with graham crackers, pound cake, or fresh fruit.

Notes

Ensure cream cheese is fully softened to avoid lumps. Do not bake the cake mix; use it dry. The dip can be made up to 2 days in advance. If the dip is too thick after chilling, add heavy cream or milk one tablespoon at a time to thin it out. Do not freeze as the texture may become grainy.
