apple cider margarita - featured image

A sophisticated yet approachable autumn cocktail that combines fresh apple cider, reposado tequila, and lime juice, finished with a spicy cinnamon sugar rim for a perfect seasonal sipper.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ounces reposado tequila
  • 1 ounce triple sec
  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 2 ounces fresh-pressed apple cider (unfiltered)
  • Cinnamon sugar mixture (3 parts granulated sugar to 1 part ground cinnamon)
  • Lime wedge for moistening the rim
  • Lime wheels for garnish
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Run a lime wedge around the outer rim of a highball or rocks glass.
  2. Dip the rim into the cinnamon sugar mixture, twisting gently to ensure an even coating, and set aside.
  3. In a cocktail shaker, combine 2 ounces tequila, 1 ounce triple sec, 1 ounce fresh lime juice, and 2 ounces apple cider.
  4. Fill the shaker with ice cubes (about half full).
  5. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds until very cold.
  6. Fill the prepared glass with fresh ice cubes.
  7. Strain the cocktail into the glass.
  8. Garnish with a lime wheel and serve immediately.

Notes

Use 100% fresh-pressed unfiltered apple cider for the best flavor; avoid apple juice. Reposado tequila is recommended for its vanilla and oak notes. For a non-alcoholic version, omit tequila and triple sec, replacing them with extra cider and ginger ale. Ensure the cinnamon sugar is dry before rimming the glass to prevent clumping.
