Buttery croissants filled with savory ham and melted Swiss cheese, brushed with a savory-sweet glaze and baked to golden perfection. These easy sliders are perfect for school lunches, potlucks, or a quick weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 large or 12 small croissants, split horizontally
  • 12 ounces thinly sliced deli ham (honey ham or black forest ham)
  • 6 slices Swiss cheese or 1 ½ cups shredded Swiss cheese
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Using a serrated knife, carefully split each croissant in half horizontally.
  3. Arrange the bottom halves of the croissants on the prepared baking sheet, slightly touching.
  4. Divide the ham evenly among the bottom halves, folding slices to fit and covering all areas.
  5. Place one slice of Swiss cheese on top of the ham on each slider, or sprinkle shredded cheese evenly.
  6. Place the top halves of the croissants on top and gently press down.
  7. In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder until smooth.
  8. Brush the glaze evenly over the tops of the croissants, including the edges. Sprinkle poppy seeds on top if using.
  9. Cover the baking sheet with aluminum foil and bake for 10 minutes.
  10. Remove the foil and bake for another 5-7 minutes, until the tops are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  11. Let the sliders rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Let the butter cool slightly before mixing the glaze to avoid cooking the mustard and Worcestershire sauce. Use room temperature croissants for easier splitting and even baking. For make-ahead, assemble sliders the night before, cover with foil, and refrigerate; brush with glaze and bake in the morning, adding 5 minutes to the covered baking time. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days; reheat in a 350°F oven for 5-7 minutes or microwave for 20-30 seconds.
