These no-bake Halloween dirt cups feature layers of creamy chocolate pudding, crushed Oreos, and gummy worms for a fun and spooky treat that kids and adults love.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (3.9 oz) box instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold whole milk
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 (8 oz) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 1 (14.3 oz) package Oreo cookies (about 36 cookies)
  • 1 (4.5 oz) bag gummy worms
  • Optional: Small Halloween-themed decorations

Instructions

  1. Crush the Oreos: Place the entire package of Oreos (filling and all) into a food processor. Pulse until you get fine, dark crumbs that look like potting soil. Set aside.
  2. Make the chocolate pudding: In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix and 2 cups of cold whole milk. Whisk for about 2 minutes until the pudding starts to thicken. Set aside.
  3. Beat the cream cheese: In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric hand mixer until smooth and fluffy, about 1-2 minutes. Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, then beat again until combined.
  4. Fold in the whipped topping: Add the entire container of thawed whipped topping to the cream cheese mixture. Gently fold with a rubber spatula until uniform.
  5. Combine the pudding and cream cheese mixture: Pour the chocolate pudding into the cream cheese mixture. Fold gently until fully combined.
  6. Assemble the cups: In clear cups or glasses, layer about 2-3 tablespoons of the chocolate pudding mixture, then 1-2 tablespoons of crushed Oreos. Repeat layers until the cup is full, ending with a layer of Oreo crumbs on top.
  7. Add the gummy worms: Gently press a few gummy worms into the top layer of Oreo crumbs, letting some dangle over the edge.
  8. Chill: Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight, to allow the pudding to set and the cookies to soften.
  9. Serve cold: Take out of the fridge right before serving. Add any extra decorations if desired.

Notes

For best results, let the dirt cups chill overnight. The texture improves as the cookies soften and the flavors meld. Add gummy worms just before serving to prevent them from getting sticky.
