A quick and festive holiday treat featuring salty pretzels and dark chocolate, decorated with candy reindeer faces and pretzel antlers. Ready in under 30 minutes with minimal active prep time.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups dark chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
  • ½ cup white chocolate chips or red candy melts
  • 2 cups mini pretzel twists
  • 10–12 pretzel sticks (for antlers)
  • Red candy melts or red M&Ms (for noses)
  • Black or brown sprinkles (for eyes)
  • Optional: Sea salt flakes
  • Optional: Coconut oil or vegetable shortening (if chocolate is too thick)

Instructions

  1. Line a large baking sheet or tray with parchment paper.
  2. Place dark chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring vigorously after each interval until smooth and glossy. Do not overheat.
  3. Pour mini pretzel twists into the melted chocolate and gently fold to coat evenly.
  4. Spread the chocolate-pretzel mixture onto the prepared parchment paper into an even layer, about half an inch thick.
  5. While the base is still wet, press two pretzel sticks into each section to form antlers.
  6. In a separate small bowl, melt white chocolate or red candy melts using 30-second microwave intervals until smooth.
  7. Use a toothpick or small piping bag to add red dots for noses and black sprinkles or icing dots for eyes.
  8. Refrigerate for 20-30 minutes until the chocolate is completely hard.
  9. Break the bark into irregular pieces and serve.

Notes

Ensure all equipment is completely dry to prevent chocolate from seizing. Work quickly once chocolate is melted. For a professional finish, temper the chocolate. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks.
