Salted Caramel Apple Cider Mimosa - featured image

This easy salted caramel apple cider mimosa is the perfect fall drink, combining tart apple cider, bubbly Prosecco, and rich salted caramel for a sophisticated yet simple cocktail. It takes just two minutes to make and is ideal for brunch, holiday gatherings, or a cozy weekend morning.

Ingredients

  • Apple cider (fresh, refrigerated; not apple juice)
  • Prosecco or Champagne (dry Brut or Cava)
  • Salted caramel sauce (store-bought, e.g., Stonewall Kitchen or Trader Joe’s)
  • Coarse sea salt (e.g., Maldon)
  • Granulated sugar (optional, for rim)
  • Ice (optional)
  • Apple slices (for garnish, e.g., Honeycrisp or Fuji)
  • Cinnamon sticks (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Salted Caramel Rim: On a small plate, mix about 1 tablespoon of coarse sea salt with 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar. Use your fingers to combine them evenly. On another small plate, pour about 2 tablespoons of salted caramel sauce.
  2. Dip the Glasses: Take your champagne flute. Dip the rim into the salted caramel sauce, turning it gently to coat the entire rim. Let the excess drip off for a second. Then, immediately dip the caramel-coated rim into the salt-sugar mixture, pressing gently so it sticks. Set the glass aside to let the rim set for about a minute.
  3. Add the Base Caramel: Drizzle about 1 tablespoon of salted caramel sauce into the bottom of the prepared glass.
  4. Pour the Apple Cider: Fill the glass about one-third full with apple cider (about 2 ounces or 60 ml). The cider should be cold from the fridge.
  5. Top with Sparkling Wine: Slowly pour your Prosecco or Champagne into the glass, filling it the rest of the way. Pour it gently down the side of the glass to preserve the bubbles and keep the layers distinct.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Give the drink a very gentle stir with a cinnamon stick (just one or two swirls). Add a thin apple slice to the rim of the glass. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use a dry Brut Prosecco or Cava to balance the sweetness. Do not skip the salted caramel rim—it enhances the flavors. For a party, prep the rims on glasses up to an hour ahead and keep them in the fridge. Chill glasses in the freezer for 10 minutes before starting for best results. For a non-alcoholic version, swap Prosecco for sparkling apple cider or non-alcoholic sparkling wine.
