Fun and easy Halloween mummy hot dogs made with just three ingredients—hot dogs, crescent roll dough, and mustard. Ready in under 25 minutes, these spooky treats are perfect for parties and weeknight fun with kids.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 hot dogs (standard size; beef, turkey, or chicken)
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough (e.g., Pillsbury)
  • Yellow mustard (for eyes; Dijon works in a pinch)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll crescent roll dough and separate along perforated lines into 8 triangles.
  3. Cut each triangle lengthwise into 3-4 thin strips (about 1/4 to 1/2 inch wide).
  4. Wrap each hot dog with 2-3 dough strips at a slight angle, overlapping slightly. Leave a small gap near the top for eyes. Tuck ends under the hot dog.
  5. Place wrapped hot dogs on prepared baking sheet, spacing 2 inches apart.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes until dough is golden brown and puffed.
  7. Let cool for 2-3 minutes.
  8. Pour a small amount of mustard into a bowl. Dip a toothpick into mustard and dot two small eyes onto each mummy.
  9. Serve immediately.

Notes

For best results, slightly stretch dough strips before wrapping. Don’t overwrap—2-3 strips per hot dog is ideal. Let mummies cool briefly before adding mustard eyes to prevent smearing. Can prep wrapped hot dogs up to 4 hours ahead and refrigerate; add 2-3 minutes to baking time.
