A quick and easy patriotic charcuterie board featuring star-shaped cheese cutouts, cured meats, fresh fruits, nuts, and crackers, perfect for summer parties and casual get-togethers.

Ingredients

  • Sharp cheddar cheese, sliced about 1/4 inch thick
  • Colby Jack cheese, sliced about 1/4 inch thick
  • Thinly sliced prosciutto
  • Dry salami rounds
  • Whole grain crackers
  • Mini baguette slices, lightly toasted
  • Red grapes, seedless
  • Blueberries
  • Strawberries, hulled and halved (optional)
  • Roasted almonds or pecans
  • Honey or fig jam
  • Fresh rosemary or thyme sprigs

Instructions

  1. Remove cheddar and Colby Jack slices from the fridge about 10 minutes before cutting to let them warm slightly.
  2. Using star-shaped cookie cutters, press firmly to cut out star shapes from the cheese slices. Wiggle gently to release. If cheese sticks, dip cutters in warm water and dry before cutting.
  3. Fold prosciutto slices loosely into delicate ribbons and place salami rounds in small stacks or fans on the board.
  4. Lightly toast baguette slices at 350°F for about 5 minutes until golden and crisp. Set aside to cool.
  5. Rinse grapes and blueberries; pat dry. Hull and halve strawberries if using. Group fruits in small clusters.
  6. Spoon honey or fig jam into small bowls or ramekins. Scatter roasted almonds or pecans in small piles around the board.
  7. Arrange star cheese cutouts centrally or in a pattern you like. Add meats around them, then intersperse crackers, bread, fruits, and nuts.
  8. Use rosemary or thyme sprigs as garnish to fill empty spaces and add fresh aroma.
  9. Adjust the arrangement for balance—avoid overcrowding or lonely spots to create an inviting and abundant look.

Notes

Use firm cheeses like sharp cheddar or Colby Jack for clean star shapes. Dip cookie cutters in warm water to prevent sticking. Keep cheeses and meats chilled until just before serving. For gluten-free, substitute crackers with nut-based crisps. Assemble board just before guests arrive for best freshness.
