A festive and easy-to-make triple-layered red, white, and blue Jello shot recipe perfect for parties and celebrations, combining vodka and gelatin for a fun adult treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (3 oz / 85 g) strawberry or cherry Jello (gelatin dessert mix)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water
  • ½ cup (120 ml) vodka (smooth, neutral vodka like Tito’s recommended)
  • 1 package (3 oz / 85 g) unflavored gelatin powder (about 2 ½ teaspoons)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water
  • ½ cup (120 ml) vodka
  • 1 package (3 oz / 85 g) blue raspberry or berry blue Jello
  • 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water
  • ½ cup (120 ml) vodka
  • Optional garnishes: Mini American flags or toothpicks with festive toppers, sprinkles or edible glitter

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Red Layer: In a heatproof bowl, dissolve 1 package (3 oz / 85 g) of strawberry or cherry Jello in 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water. Stir until completely dissolved (about 2 minutes). Stir in ½ cup (120 ml) vodka. Pour evenly into your shot glasses or molds, filling about one-third full. Chill in the refrigerator until firm, about 45 minutes to 1 hour.
  2. Make the White Layer: Sprinkle 1 package (3 oz / 85 g) unflavored gelatin powder over 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water and let it bloom for 1 minute. Stir until fully dissolved. Combine this with 1 cup (240 ml) sweetened condensed milk and ½ cup (120 ml) vodka. Mix well until smooth.
  3. Add the White Layer: Once the red layer is firm, gently pour the white layer on top, filling another third of the shot glass. Chill again until set, about 45 minutes to 1 hour. Pour slowly over the back of a spoon to avoid mixing layers.
  4. Prepare the Blue Layer: Dissolve 1 package (3 oz / 85 g) blue raspberry Jello in 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water. Stir well, then add ½ cup (120 ml) vodka.
  5. Add the Blue Layer: Once the white layer is firm, carefully pour the blue layer over it to fill the glasses or molds to the top. Chill for at least 2 hours or until fully set.
  6. Serve: Remove from fridge about 10 minutes before serving to soften slightly for easy eating. Garnish with mini flags or sprinkles if desired.

Notes

Use fresh gelatin for best results. Pour layers slowly over the back of a spoon to keep layers distinct. Chill each layer fully before adding the next. Use smooth, neutral vodka like Tito’s for best flavor. For a non-alcoholic version, replace vodka with club soda or lemon-lime soda. Silicone molds make removal easier. Store leftovers refrigerated up to 3 days; avoid freezing.
